While we continue to cover the exhibitions from QuiltCon West that was in Pasadena, California in February of this year, we know QuiltCon East will be in Savannah, Georgia in 2017, AND we now know QuiltCon West will once again be in Pasadena in 2018. February 22-25, 2018 to be exact. Mark your calendars!

Now we have the first installment of the Improvisation category from the exhibitions at QuiltCon 2016. In Pasadena this year, QuiltCon is put on by The Modern Quilt Guild. Though there is a large curated and juried exhibition, Quiltcon is also a conference with classes and workshops, lectures and events. Everything is great, but for me, the quilts are the highlight. The Modern Quilt Guild Exhibition at Quilt Market 2012 in Houston

Yesterday I got a chance to look at the quilt exhibitions at Quilt Market 2012, and started out with the Modern Quilt Guild‘s exhibition. Gorgeous gorgeous, I took photos of the ones that really struck me, and since I take the photo first and then look and see who designed the quilt second, I got surprised a couple times to see I had chosen quilts people from my own East Bay Modern Guild. Hooray!

Without further ado, my picks and pics -keep in mind there are limitations photographing in this environment and there are at times things obstructing a view of the whole quilt, but enjoy anyway!
