Improv

Am off to Quilt Market tomorrow. Can’t wait to take in the exhibition and report back.  Also  have a line of tonals out right now. So I had some projects made for Quilt Market out of a simple doodle made into a fun print. It’s called “Improv”!

I decided to make a quick quilt, and did a spontaneous “stack and wack” technique ( I am told). Once I started doing it I figured it must be an actual thing. It was too logical. No fabric wasted, just cut fabric together and shuffle and sew the blocks. I did a very Improv look of course!

  2. Have fun at market – Love, love the tonals and projects made, especially Terri’s alphabet. They play so well together and will defiantly play well with others, the design is great and palette a smart choice.

    • Traffic was a little light with the weather! I thought there were fewer designer booths than a few years ago. It is a huge expense and some companies pay for their designers or partially subsidize, some don’t. So many of the quilt pattern companies were doing modern style quilts or at least a modern palette–and still a lot of white! There were even more offshoot modern “brands” from the fabric companies, and a few more start-up fabric companies with a distinct look.
