From the Reference Library: Kyoto Shoin

When looking for used books for textile design inspiration, I love the books that were published by Kyoto Shoin. The Active Design Series and the World Textile Collections were put out  in the late 80’s and early nineties, and I comb the internet to find them for a good price in the used book outlets.  (One must exercise patience to find them for under $30)  I hardly ever crack the copyright free reference books anymore, favoring instead to draw my own motifs.  But I do love and crave well compiled full color books with amazing original designs in them, especially historical.  It gets me away from being inundated with images of what is out there today and gets my imagination working about modern ways to express the old classics.  I like my reference library to help keep the design bar set high.
